Our Story
DeckCare started with a simple idea: to restore timber decks properly.
In the beginning, most of our work was focused on bringing old, grey and damaged decks back to life. We stripped old coatings, cleaned and rejuvenated tired timber, sanded weathered boards, replaced damaged sections and tested different finishing systems to understand what really works in Sydney conditions.
Over time, that restoration work became our greatest education. We saw what happens to decks after 5, 10 and 20 years. We saw where moisture gets trapped, where framing starts to fail, why coatings peel, why boards move, why screws rust, and why some decks look good for one season but fail much earlier than they should.
That experience shaped the way we work today. DeckCare has now grown into a complete timber deck company, offering restoration, repairs, maintenance and new deck construction across Sydney. But even as the business has grown, the foundation has stayed the same: honest advice, proper preparation, careful workmanship and long-term thinking.
Why Restoration Made Us Better Deck Builders
Many deck builders only see a deck when it is new. We see what happens years later.
Before we became known for building new decks, we spent years restoring old ones. That gave us a different perspective. We see the hidden problems, the weak points, and the details that were missed during construction.
This experience now guides the way we build. When we construct a new deck, we think about how water will move, how the frame will dry, how the timber will age, how the coating will perform, and how easy it will be to maintain in the future.
We use that knowledge to help prevent the common problems we have seen so many times in older decks. That is why our approach is not only about building a deck that looks beautiful today. It is about building a deck that still makes sense in 5, 10 and 20 years.

Every person on our team plays a critical role in the final result—from heavy pressure washing and chemical stripping to structural carpentry, fine sanding, and final detailing.
We are proud of the team we have built, but we are extremely careful about how we grow. Our goal has never been to become the biggest deck company in Sydney. Our goal is to remain the most trusted one.
Even as the business has grown to a team of 7+ skilled people, we have never stepped away from the work itself. You will often still see us on site, on the tools, checking the details, preparing timber, and making sure the job is done the right way.
